Federal University lafia is One of the nine new federal institutions founded in Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, the Federal University Lafia was founded by the Goodluck Jonathan administration in 2010 and is located in Lafia, the state capital of Nasarawa State.
In September 2012, the University started its academic program, welcoming new students who comprised the initial group of students instructed by University Vice Chancellor Prof. Ekanem Ikpi Braide. The current President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, named Prof. Ogbe as Deputy Vice Chancellor and Prof. Muhammad Sunusi Liman as Second Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Lafia. On February 13, 2016, the appointment was made following the conclusion of Professor Ekanem Ikpi Braide’s term.
