O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Yoruba Course
To study Yoruba in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credit passes to include Yoruba and English Language.
UTME Subjects Combination For Yoruba Course
English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Yoruba under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions are: Yoruba and two other subjects in Arts or Social Sciences.
Direct Entry Requirements for Yoruba
Two ‘A’ level passes to include Yoruba or Literature in English.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
Waiver For UTME Candidates
(i) UI requires 5 ‘O’ level Credits at ONE sittings or 6 ‘O’ level Credits at TWO sittings including English Language and two Arts subjects one of which must be Yoruba
(ii) UNILORIN accepts candidates who do not offer Yoruba (Language/Literature) but meet other UTME entry requirement.
Waiver For Direct Entry Candidates
(i) UNILORIN require NCE in Yoruba and Social Science subject.
(ii) UI accepts Two ‘A’ level passes to include Yoruba and another Arts or Social Science subject. Accepts also accepts NCE to include Yoruba and another Arts or Social Science subject at Merit or better still Credit level.
(iii) OAU accepts NCE in Yoruba (with merit and above).
