O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Communication and Language Arts Course

To study Communication and Language Arts in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credit passes or equivalent including English Language, Lit. in English, Arts/Music depending on the combination.

UTME Subjects Combination For Communication and Language Arts Course

English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Communication and Language Arts under the Faculty of Arts and Humanities in the institutions are: French and any other two subjects.

 

Direct Entry Requirements for Communication and Language Arts

Two ‘A’ level passes or equivalent in Arts or Social Science subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

Waiver For UTME Candidates

(i) UI requires 5 ‘O’ Level Credits at one sitting or 6 ‘O’ Level Credits at 2 sittings to include English Language, two Arts to include Lit-in-English and any other three or four subjects from Arts, Social Sciences or Science [Please note that Government and Economics are not Arts subjects].

Waiver For Direct Entry Candidates

(i) UI accepts ND Mass Communication (Upper Credit). Applicant must in addition, have passed Literature in English at ‘O’ level to qualify for Direct Entry Admissions. Accepts alo 2 ‘A’ level passes to include Literature in English and one other Arts or Social Science subject.
