The Fg today gives engagement letters and devices to N-Power monitors in Rivers state. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq represented by Ngene Bashir, said the devices would enable the ministry supervise the activities of the monitors and detect areas of challenges
She said: “These devices are equipped with applications that will monitor activities of the independent monitors. All the distributed devices are locally made in Nigeria and the applications designed by an indigenous company.
“The application, which is called the social investment management system, is a mobile and web-based application used to monitor the national investment projects.
“Using this app the ministry sees real time report of activities of the independent monitors on the field and view reports on the field.
“It will help to contribute to Mr. President’s mandate Of lifting 100million Nigerians out of poverty. Each independent monitors is expected to monitor a designated number of beneficiaries of the national social investment programme”.
She said a monthly stipend of N30,000 would be paid to each monitor, adding that there must be an 80 per cent delivery for eligibility to receive payment.
She added: “No independent monitor is allowed to reassign their duties to a third party. Every monitor will be held accountable for the task given to them.
“The ministry reserves the right to withdraw and disengage any monitor for inactivity or double standard or practices. The duration of the assignment is year”.
