O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Pure / Applied Mathematics Course
To study Pure / Applied Mathematics in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology/Agric Science or Geography
UTME Subjects Combination For Pure / Applied Mathematics Course
English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Pure / Applied Mathematics under the Faculty of Sciences n the institutions are:
Mathematics, Physics and Biology or Agric Science or Chemistry or Geography
Direct Entry Requirements for Pure / Applied Mathematics
Two ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics and any other Science subject.
(ii) NCE/HND (merit) /ND (Upper credit) in Mathematics
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
Waiver For UTME Candidates
UNIPORT requires Biology.
(ii) UNIBEN accepts Economics as the fifth subject.
Waiver For Direct Entry Candidates
(i) LAUTECH accepts ND (upper credit), HND (lower credit), NCE (credit) in relevant fields into 200 level or ‘A’ Level Passes in Mathematics , Physics,, Chemistry or Biology
(ii) UNIPORT – No Direct Entry.
(iii) UNIBEN in addition to UTME requirements, accepts:
(a) ND (Upper credit) / HND (Lower credit) in Mathematics / Statistics or Science Laboratory Technology;
(b) NCE (Overall Merit) with credit passes in Mathematics and Physics.
(iv) PAUL accepts passes in Mathematics, Pure and Applied Physics or Chemistry or Biology or Statistics at GCE Advanced or its equivalent
