University of Benin
O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Optometry Course
To study Optometry in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
UTME Subjects Combination For Optometry Course
English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Optometry under the Faculty of Sciences n the institutions are:
Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Direct Entry Requirements for Optometry
At least two ‘A’ level passes (G.C.E or H.S.C) in Chemistry and any one of Biology, Zoology or Physics.
(ii) Distinction level pass in National Diploma (ND) from a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology in Science Laboratory Technology (SLT).
(v) Distinction level pass in Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised Polytechnic or College of Technology in Polymer Chemistry and Science Laboratory Technology (SLT)
(v) Distinction level pass in Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) from a recognised College of Education in Chemistry. In addition candidates should have at least an overall Credit level pass
