O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Biochemistry Course

To study Biochemistry in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

UTME Subjects Combination For Biochemistry Course

English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Biochemistry under the Faculty of Faculty of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciencesin the institutions are:

Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

 

Direct Entry Requirements for Biochemistry

Two ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one of Physics, Biology/Zoology/Botany and Maths.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

Waiver For UTME Candidates

(i) UNIBADAN require the O level Credit passes at one sitting.

Waiver For Direct Entry Candidates

(i) UNIBADAN requires two A’ level passes from Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Botany plus UTME requirements.

(ii) UNIBEN requires three A’ level passes to include Biology/Zoology, Chemistry and Physics plus UTME requirements.

(iii) LAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Biology, Chemistry; and Physics or Mathematics /ND with Upper Credit /HND in related discipline (plus UTME requirements) may be considered for 200 level.

(iv) UNICAL does not admit Direct Entry.

(v) FUTO requires at least ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Physics and any two of Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. It also accepts ND/HND (Upper Credit) in Bio-medical Technology, Bio-medical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical / Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Candidates must in addition meet UTME ‘O’ Level requirements. It does not accept First Degree or NCE.
