O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Mining Engineering Course

To study Mining Engineering in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credit passes in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language and any other Science subjects

UTME Subjects Combination For Mining Engineering Course

English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Mining Engineering under the Faculty of Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology in the institutions are:

Direct Entry Requirements for Mining Engineering

(i) ‘A’ level passes in any two of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

(ii) ND (upper credit) in Mining Engr./ Mineral Resources and Geological Study in addition to ‘O’ level requirements


Waiver For UTME Candidates

(i) UNIJOS – All credits at one sitting

Waiver For Direct Entry Candidates

(i) FUTA accepts ND at Upper Credit Level or its equivalent in Mining or Mineral Resources Engineering or related discipline from recognized institutions or ‘Good passes at the General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) or its equivalent in at least two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics.

(ii) UNIJOS requires two ‘A’ level or IJMB passes in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. It also accepts ND (credit level) in Mining Engineering/Mineral Resources Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognised institution may be considered provided the candidate has credit pass in Mathematics at O’ level
