O’Level Subject Subject Combination For Education and Igbo Course

To study Education and Igbo in any university in Nigeria, it is required to have Five SSCE credits including English Language and Igbo.

UTME Subjects Combination For Education and Igbo Course

English Language is compulsory for all courses. The other three subjects required for Education and Igbo under the Faculty of Education in the institutions are: Igbo and two other Arts subjects.

Direct Entry Requirements for Education and Igbo

Two NCE/’A’ level passes in Igbo and any relevant subject.


Waiver For UTME Candidates

(i) UNILAG requires a credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any 3 of French, Literature in English, Yoruba, Igbo, History or Government, Geography, Economics, CRS, IRS and Arabic.

(ii) ABSU requires Five SSCE credit passes to include English Language, Igbo Language and any three subjects.

Waiver For Direct Entry Candidates

(i) UNIZIK accepts NCE not below credit pass in Igbo.

(ii) ABSU admits through Direct Entry only.

(iii) UNILAG accepts very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects:
(a) Igbo and any two of French, Yoruba, Lit-in English, History, CRS/IRS, Geography and Government.
(b) Two A/Level passes in Igbo and any subject in Humanities.
(c) NCE: Igbo and any other two Arts subjects.
(d) Candidates must also satisfy the O/Level requirements
